JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jaguars will not pick up the fifth-year option on linebacker Devin Lloyd, setting up for this season for the former first-round pick to potentially be his last in Jacksonville, according to a report from ESPN.
The move isn’t unexpected. Jacksonville picked up edge rusher Travon Walker’s fifth-year option earlier this month and didn’t pick up Lloyd’s at the same time. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Wednesday that the Jaguars elected not to pick it up.

Teams have until May 1 to pick up options on 2022 first-round picks.

Lloyd was productive last season with 113 tackles, two sacks, one interception and four pass deflections.
All first-round picks have standard four-year contracts that can be extended by a year when teams elect to pick up the option. That comes with a hefty pay raise, too.
