Atlantic Coast grad Pat Bryant taken in 3rd round of NFL draft by Broncos

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Illinois receiver and former Atlantic Coast High School star Pat Bryant II became the first local player to hear his name called in the NFL draft on Thursday night.

Bryant was a third-round pick of the Broncos (74th overall). He is the first Atlantic Coast High School graduate to be selected in the NFL draft.

Bryant had a stellar career with the Illini, including 984 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on 54 catches as a senior. Bryant was credited with just one drop in his final season. Bryant is the highest-drafted local receiver since Parker’s AJ Jenkins in 2012 (30th).

Bryant had 2095 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns during his four-year Illinois career. His 10 touchdown catches tied the program record. He was named to the 2024 AP All-Big Ten First Team and 2024 Phil Steele All-America Second Team.
