1. (1) Episcopal (11-3, Class 1A)
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Benjamin, Bolles, Hagerty, Harrison (Ga.), Jensen Beach, Pensacola Catholic, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine, Tocoi Creek.
Notable: Head coach Krista Grabher’s team is seeded No. 1 in District 2-1A and opens the tournament Monday against Riverside. They’ll roll through districts and are poised for for a No. 1 seed in Region 1-1A. Episcopal is currently ranked No. 4 in Class 1A. It’s state semifinal or bust for the Eagles.
2. (2) Ponte Vedra (11-3, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Hagerty, Harrison (Ga.), Lake Highland Prep, Nease, Oak Hall, St. Thomas Aquinas, Tocoi Creek.
Notable: The Sharks walloped Nease 18-3 in the District 3-2A opener and face Bartram Trail in the district final on Tuesday night. Ponte Vedra is ranked No. 3 in Class 2A, but they’re probably looking at a No. 2 seed when the playoffs start, behind Lake Mary.
3. (3) Bartram Trail (10-6, Class 2A)
Quality win: Bishop Moore, Bolles, Nease, Tocoi Creek, Viera.
Notable: The Bears belted Tocoi Creek 20-4 in the District 3-2A tournament to set up a Tuesday night district championship clash against Ponte Vedra. Barring something wild, the Bears will open the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in Region 1-2A. Bartram Trail’s quest for a four-peat as a state champ will require some extra effort.
4. (4) Bolles (8-5, Class 1A)
Quality win: Gulf Breeze, Nease, South Walton, Tocoi Creek (twice).
Notable: Bolles will face Menendez on Monday in the District 3-1A semifinals on April 14. Their likely opponent in the championship game on Tuesday is St. Augustine. The Bulldogs are likely a No. 4 seed in the state playoffs in Region 1-1A.
5. (5) St. Augustine (11-6, Class 1A)
Quality win: Beachside, Fletcher, Menendez, Palmetto, Tocoi Creek
Notable: The Yellow Jackets will face Fleming Island in the District 3-1A tournament semifinals, and will likely draw Bolles in the final on Tuesday night. Skylar Kleinschek and Brooke Birkett have combined for 115 goals for the Yellow Jackets.
6. (6) Tocoi Creek (8-8, Class 2A)
Quality wins: Fleming Island, Menendez, West Orange.
Notable: The Toros lost big to Bartram Trail (20-4) in the District 3-2A opener. Despite that loss, the Toros remain in the Super 6 as the season winds down, as their only local losses have been against teams ahead of them in the Super 6. Ashley Cotter has 59 goals for the Toros. They’re no worse than a No. 5 seed in the Region 1-2A playoff bracket.
