JACKOSNVILLE, Fla. – Nothing says spring like an evening out at the ballpark, and Tuesday is the first chance for Jumbo Shrimp fans to catch the team in action at the newly named and renovated VyStar Ballpark.
The team started the season on the road in Nashville and returns home on a two-game winning streak.
The Crustacean Nation is invited to come out early and celebrate with the annual Opening Day Street Carnival from 4-7 p.m. outside the new Main Gate on Georgia Street.
Gates open for the game at 6 p.m. with first pitch against the Worcester Red Sox at 7:05 p.m.
For the street carnival, Georgia Street will be completely blocked off between the ball park and football stadium for several attractions, like a climbing wall, street games, and interactive vendor booths.
After the game, fans can enjoy the first fireworks of the season at the ballpark.
