JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Varsity 4 Super 6 girls soccer rankings will be published every Thursday during the regular season — except during Thanksgiving and Christmas week. Records are through Dec. 18 games.

Rank, previous, school, record, classification

1. (1) Ponte Vedra (8-0-2, Class 5A)

Quality wins: Bishop Kenny, Bishop Moore, Chiles, Fleming Island, Niceville, Stanton, St. Johns Country Day, Tocoi Creek.

Notable: The Sharks had a solid week, playing to scoreless draw with previous No. 2 Bartram Trail and then beating Fleming Island 4-2. Clay is up next on Thursday before the winter break. Lily Morse and Izzy Whitaker have eight goals apiece for the Sharks, who have a 24-match unbeaten streak dating back to last season.

2. (3) Creekside (9-0-1, Class 7A)

Quality wins: Bartram Trail, Beachside, Edgewood, Oakleaf, Stanton.

Notable: The Knights, the defending Class 7A state champ, remained continued their perfect with a 1-0 win over rival Bartram Trail. Creekside is unbeaten in 15 consecutive games dating back to last year’s title run. Their last loss was to Bartram in OT of last year’s district championship. Sarah Weisberg, Brooke Godoy, Lily Paisant and Braelyn McMillan are leading the way for Creekside.

3. (2) Bartram Trail (7-1-2, Class 6A)

Quality wins: Chiles, Episcopal, Fletcher, P.K. Yonge, St. Johns CD.

Notable: The Bears suffered their first loss of the season in a 1-0 game to Creekside. Those two used to be district opponents but now they’re in separate classifications. The Bears also played No. 1 Ponte Vedra to a scoreless draw. Brooke Gosse and Ali Fletcher have scored a combined 17 goals.

4. (4) St. Johns Country Day (9-2-1, Class 1A)

Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Fletcher, Lakeland Christian, Lakewood Ranch, Niceville, Oakleaf, P.K. Yonge.

Notable: Mike Pickett’s team is unbeaten in its last seven games They beat a high quality Lakewood Ranch (1-0), tied with Venice (1-all) and edged Oakleaf (1-0) since our last Super 6. They’ve got Stanton and Bishop Moore this week before the Christmas break. Calli Berrang, Reygan Rogero and Cece Nowicki have combined for 10 goals.

5. (6) Fletcher (10-2-1, Class 6A)

Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Bolles, Flagler Palm Coast, Oakleaf, Sandalwood, Stanton.

Notable: The Senators are rolling. They’ve won five straight games, including three since our last Super 6, topping Bolles (1-0), Sandalwood (6-0) and Atlantic Coast (5-1). Alexandria Mai and Emma McMurry are leading the Senators, who are off until the new year.

6. (NR) Stanton (10-4, Class 4A)

Quality wins: Atlantic Coast, Clay, Fernandina Beach, Fleming Island, Nease, Wolfson.

Notable: Tough call on this spot this week. The Blue Devils have losses to three Super 6 teams (Creekside, Fletcher, Ponte Vedra). They’ve got a tough assignment up on Thursday against St. Johns Country Day before the holiday break. Kate Huntington, Caroline Joiner, Peyton Burris and Kimiko O’Connor have combined for 25 goals for Stanton.
