Rank, previous, School, Record, Classification

1. (1) Raines (6-0, Class 3A)

Last week: at Madison County (4-2), canceled due to hurricane. This week: at (9) Creekside (4-3).

Glance: The Vikings haven’t played since they crushed Ribault in the Northwest Classic. It’s a shame the clash at Madison County was wiped out due to weather. They’ve got a big challenge this week against the high-powered Knights.

2. (2) Nease (5-0, Class 6A)

Last week: vs. Bartram Trail (3-3), postponed to Week 12. This week: vs. Atlantic Coast (3-4).

Glance: The Panthers have yet to play this month. They had a natural bye week followed by a game against Bartram Trail that was pushed back to Week 12 after the FHSAA’s recent decision to extend the regular season.

3. (4) St. Augustine (5-1, Class 6A)

Monday night: beat Clay, 56-6. This week: at Bartram Trail (3-3), Varsity 4 Game of the Week.

Glance: The Yellow Jackets coasted to the District 3-4A title after smashing Clay in a defensive gem on Monday. Can they keep their success going against the rival Bears this week?

4. (5) Bolles (6-1, Class 2A)

Last week: beat Jackson, 26-0. This week: at (10) Riverside (5-3), 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Bulldogs have a tough assignment this week against a Generals team that can score points in a hurry. The Bulldogs have been susceptible to giving up big yardage but they can also put up numbers, too.

5. (7) Oakleaf (5-2, Class 6A)

Monday night: beat First Coast, 44-0. This week: vs. White (5-2).

Glance: The Knights could very easily be unbeaten at this point (two losses by a combined 13 points). They face a Commanders team that could make that same claim (two losses by a combined 6 points). Oakleaf has things clicking through the air and on the ground.

6. (3) Bradford (6-1, Class 2A)

Last week: lost to Newberry, 21-7. This week: at Tallahassee Leon (0-7).

Glance: The Tornadoes won’t be able to turn in back-to-back unbeaten regular seasons but they’re still going to push for the No. 1 seed in their region. There’s no massive obstacle left for a nine-win season.

7. (6) Mandarin (5-2, Class 6A)

Last week: beat First Coast, 27-6. This week: at Fletcher (4-3), 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Mustangs last played on Oct. 7 and now collide with district rival Fletcher. A win here will set up a district title showdown at Oakleaf on Oct. 25.

8. (8) Ponte Vedra (5-2, Class 5A)

Last week: beat Middleburg, 52-21. This week: at Orange Park (2-5)

Glance: The Sharks need some help to win the District 3-5A title but they can’t afford a slipup here. Ponte Vedra needs to win out and hope that Middleburg upsets district-leading Fleming Island to force a three-way tie. Should they win out in that scenario, the Sharks will likely win the district crown by its FHSAA MaxPreps rankings points.

9. (10) Creekside (4-3, Class 7A)

Monday night: beat Atlantic Coast, 43-37. This week: vs. (1) Raines (5-0).

Glance: The Knights have won four straight and have got their offense humming along. They face their biggest challenge since facing a fully loaded Mandarin team in Week 1. Can the Knights find that offensive success against the No. 1 Vikings?

10. (NR) Riverside (5-3, Class 4A)

Monday night: beat Englewood, 49-0. This week: vs. (4) Bolles (6-1), 6:30 p.m.

Glance: The Generals are back in the Super 10 after dropping out in Week 2. They’ve got an offense that can put up big numbers. They’ve struggled against teams in the Super 10 but they are going to be a threat each week.
