Charting local players who signed with NFL teams as undrafted free agents

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The NFL draft is in the rearview and the area had a down season from a selection standpoint, with only player from the News4JAX coverage region being selected. But five players signed undrafted free agent contracts with NFL teams after the draft.

Here’s a look at those players.

WR David White Jr., West Carolina, Westside, Jaguars

Frederica Academy’s Jaylin Simpson was a fifth-round pick of the Colts. Simpson, a Brunswick native, went to Auburn and was the 164th pick in the draft.

That follows a prolific 2023 draft where eight players who graduated from high schools in the coverage region were taken.

Several players received invites to NFL minicamps, including tight end Josiah Johnson (Bolles) with the Seahawks and running back Terrell Jennings (Mandarin) with the Patriots.
