JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The News4JAX Super 6 high school softball rankings will be published Thursday’s during the regular season. Records are through March 20.

Rank, previous, team, record, classification

1. (1) Baldwin (10-0, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Baker County, Mandarin, Middleburg, Paxon.

Glance: The Indians are on cruise control. Shaylen Byrd and Baldwin have gone 21 consecutive innings without allowing a run. Byrd iced Paxon in a 7-0 game since our last Super 6 with nine Ks. She also homered in the game. Baldwin should be in smooth sailing territory until an April 4 game against defending Class 2A state champ University Christian. Kendall North (.531, 3 HR) is powering Baldwin. Jazmine Ramos-Merced also has three homers for the Indians, who are ranked No. 5 in the state in all classifications by MaxPreps.

2. (2) Episcopal (10-1, Class 3A)

Notable wins: Fernandina Beach, Fletcher, Oakleaf, Providence, West Nassau, West Orange.

Glance: A quality W since our last Super 6, a 7-2 win over previously ranked West Nassau as the Eagles returned from Spring Break with a fury. Pitcher Grace Jones is hitting .531 with three homers for the Eagles. She’s also whiffed 139 in 66 IP. Ponte Vedra is up next on Thursday night.

3. (4) Middleburg (8-1, Class 5A)

Notable wins: Baker County, Nease, Paxon, West Nassau.

Glance: The Broncos have been off since routing Bradford 16-2 on March 7. They’re lone defeat is to No. 1 Baldwin. Middleburg is back in action on Thursday against county rival Clay followed by Ridgeview on Friday. Alyssa Prather (.607, 13 RBI, 3 HR), Kaelyn Hagan (.483, 10 RBI, 2 HR) and Kerra Clarida (.429, 15 RBI, 5 HR) are the big bats for the Broncos.

4. (5) Creekside (10-0, Class 7A)

Notable wins: Bartram Trail, Nease, Ponte Vedra, Trinity Catholic.

Glance: The Knights thundered past Ponte Vedra 10-0 on Tuesday night after 11 days off for Spring Break. Up next in DOC4Life tournament action are Vanguard and Liberty County on Friday, teams that could definitely push the Knights harder than they’ve been thus far. On Saturday, they’ve got Westminster Academy and South Sumter. P Kaylee Martineau (.552, 13 RBI), Bella Campbell (.531, 13 RBI) and Cora Middleton (.448, 11 RBI) are leading Creekside regulars.

5. (3) University Christian (7-2, Class 2A)

Notable wins: Bolles, Flagler Palm Coast, Fort White.

Glance: The reigning Class 2A state champs went 2-1 since our last Super 6, beating Ridgeview (8-0) and Fort White (5-1) and losing to Oakleaf (5-3). They’ve got Liberty County, Vanguard, Trinity Catholic and Westminster Academy up next in the DOC. Sophia Kardatzke is hitting .700 with a couple homers and 15 RBI for UC.

6. (NR) Oakleaf (7-4, Class 6A)

Notable wins: Fleming Island, Keystone Heights, Ponte Vedra, University Christian

Glance: The Knights have rebounded from a three-game losing streak to win five of their last six games. The beat previous No. 3 UC 5-3 since our last Super 6 to move into the rankings for the first time this season. Charlotte Maddox (.471), Jaydyn Beall (.467) and Amya Mirelez (.364, 12 RBI) are leading the Knights.

Dropped out

West Nassau (5-4, Class 3A).
