JACKSONVILLE, Fla. â Channel 4 was looking for a few good elves to help make a childâs Christmas merry and bright, and boy, did they show up.
Community members made sure to pick up an extra toy during their holiday shopping sprees to drop off at the Channel 4 Toy Drive.

âFortunately, I grew up in a home where we had advantages. I had to work for it.. and it just helps people who may be a little less advantaged than I had,â Patrick shared with News4JAX after dropping off his donations.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, Channel 4 collected new and unwrapped toys at WJXT Studios located at 4 Broadcast Place. Those toys will then be distributed during the Childrenâs Christmas Party of Jacksonville on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to as many as 5,000 of Jacksonvilleâs children in need.
For some donors like Chris, there doesnât have to be a reason to give back.
Every year we collect bicycles, scooters, helmets, dolls, learning toys and more.
This year, we received 2,606 toys and 125 bicycles, totaling 2,731 donations.
One man choked up when we asked what inspired him to donate.
âIt always feels good to give back. Iâve been blessed with a really good job,â he said.
If youâd like to still donate, please buy a new toy for a child up to age 12 and drop it off on Friday in the reception area at the station. Remember, you donât need to wrap your gift or even get out of your car.
Santa also made an appearance to spread holiday cheer.
