BRADFORD COUNTY, Fla. – The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested a teenager on Tuesday evening after learning that they were carrying a gun in their backpack while at the Bradford High School stadium during a middle school football game.

According to the sheriff’s office, the teen’s mother told deputies that she told her son not to carry the gun to the football game before she had to leave for work, but he didn’t heed her instructions.

The teen was also found to be carrying a BB gun in his waistband.

The school learned of the gun’s presence after receiving an anonymous tip, and when an administrator confronted the teen, the gun case was found in their backpack, the sheriff’s office said.

"Upon completion of all paperwork, he was delivered to the Department of Juvenile Justice pending court proceedings," BCSO said.
