In a GoFundMe post, Jordan Wilkinson said she and her husband were cleaning their home, so they sent their kids out to play.

Wilkinson said that later on, her 10-year-old son, Tristian, came screaming into the home saying that a dog was attacking Alaric.

She said Tristian was able to get the dog off of Alaric, and she held him as she waited for help. They were airlifted to a hospital then he was rushed into emergency surgery.

“The whole ear was completely off,” Wilkerson said. “The only thing that was holding my son’s ear was less than an inch of the earlobe.”

Wilkinson said her son got 60 to 80 stitches for the lacerations, and he is recovering, but the family needs help paying for his medical appointments.

Wilkinson said there are multiple homes on the property and the dog was owned by a neighbor. The dog, owned by a neighbor, was on a leash, but somehow Alaric got too close to the dog and it attacked. She said the neighbors normally don’t have the dog outside.

The family said they are ready to move because this is the second dog attack on her children.

“So my biggest thing is to put my family into a safer environment where they can go outside and be children,” Wilkinson said.

Wilkinson said the dog will be euthanized.
