NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – Nassau County officials are inviting the community to dispose of hazardous waste at its upcoming collection event.
The waste collection event, which will also be a food drive, will be held on Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Road Department facility on Gene Lasserre Boulevard.

- Gasoline/Fuels
- Household cleaners
- Insecticides
- Medications (no controlled substances)
- Oil/lubricants (used)
- Oil filters
- Paints
- Paint thinners
- Pesticides
- Pool chemicals
- Propane tanks
- Radiator fluid
- Solvents
Accepted electronics waste:
- Camcorders
- Computer monitors
- Computer terminals
- CPUs
- DVD players
- Hard drives (will be shredded)
- Health & beauty appliances
- Keyboards
- Pagers
- Power tools (corded - no gasoline tools or equipment accepted)
- Printers
- Radios
- Scanners
- Small kitchen appliances
- Stereo equipment
- Desk & mobile telephones
- Televisions
- VCR players
Large appliances may be dropped off at the Callahan Convenience Recycle Center.
This event is free with proof of Nassau County residency.
Residents are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Barnabas Food Pantry.
