Man, 26, charged with murder of man found dead inside Hogan’s Creek home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested in connection with the murder of a man who was found dead inside a home in the Hogan’s Creek area on Friday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said Monae Woodward Boone, 26, was charged with the murder of James Fisher, 68, who was found dead inside a home on West 18th Street, near North Davis Street, following a reported fight.

When police arrived, witnesses told them Fisher, Woodward Boone and another person might be inside the home. However, officers were not able to enter the home and called the SWAT team for help.

When officers entered, they found Fisher dead with injuries consistent with “some type of altercation," JSO said.

JSO’s Homicide Unit quickly identified Woodward Boone as the suspect.

Woodward Boone is now in the Duval County jail facing second-degree murder, false imprisonment and aggravated battery charges.
