‘Traumatizing’: Daughter describes Baker County car crash that killed mother

Wednesday would have been Tiffany Carter’s 32nd birthday

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – Family members identified the woman who died in a car crash in Baker County on Saturday.

Tiffany Carter, 31, lost control of her car while driving on US-90 near County Road 250A.

Officials said she hydroplaned, hit some trees and died on scene.

The family created a makeshift memorial at the crash site that included some of Carter’s favorite things, like Coca-Cola drinks.

Memories like karaoke sessions in the car and cupcake smashing are only saved on video. Carter’s family will never get the chance to experience that with her again.

“I’m just glad she didn’t have to suffer the pain,” Breelynn Youmans, Carter’s daughter, said.

Youmans was in the car when the accident happened. She suffered a broken shoulder, fractured ribs and bruised lungs.

“Very scary, traumatizing,” she said.

She wanted to thank the community for helping her family these last days and especially on Wednesday, on what would’ve been Carter’s 32nd birthday.

A birthday that probably would’ve included spontaneous dancing which she loved to do.

“We were outside at our new house and the dryer was making noises, she just started dancing. She went with the dryer noise,” Youmans said.

The 12-year-old said her mom, who had three siblings, had a funny personality, but was also strict with her and her brother.

She said the memories she’ll cherish the most about her is just having her around.

A funeral for Carter will be held on Saturday. Click here to support the GoFundMe for funeral expenses.
