JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 20-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash Tuesday morning after he lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on the Southside Connector, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP said the crash happened just before noon north of Merrill Road.

According to FHP, the man was traveling in the inside lane when he lost control of his motorcycle. He then veered off the roadway onto the center grassy median and was thrown off the motorcycle.
The man, from Jacksonville, died at the scene.
The Southside Connector was closed in both directions for a few hours as crews worked on clearing the scene.
The crash is still under investigation.
