JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, previously known as HabiJax, has changed its name to First Coast Habitat for Humanity, effective July 21, 2025.
The new name reflects the organization’s expanded service area, which now includes Duval, Nassau and Baker counties.

The name change coincides with the start of the nonprofit’s new fiscal year and a leadership transition.
Monte Walker, who served as president and CEO for five years, stepped down at the end of June.
Chris Folds, Chief Community Partnerships Officer, has been appointed interim CEO while the board searches for permanent leadership.
First Coast Habitat for Humanity has served the region since 1988 and recently merged with Nassau Habitat for Humanity. The organization is addressing affordable housing challenges across Northeast Florida, including Duval, Nassau and Baker counties.
