GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Police Department investigators are still working to solve the Easter Sunday shooting at TB McPherson Park that led to the death of a 20-year-old woman who was caught in the crossfire.
Gainesville Police Chief Nelson Moya recently released a video showing surveillance clips of the shooting incident and asking for the public’s help in the investigation into the death of 20-year-old Ontaria Baisden.
“We want to bring attention to a case that we are working that is of high priority to our organization and to our community," Moya says in the video. “Ms. Baisden was clearly caught in a crossfire. It is of importance that we identify and bring to justice those responsible for her tragic passing.
The shooting was reported around 8:15 p.m. on April 20 as attendees were leaving an Easter event.

Video shows an unidentified male wearing red shorts and a gray hoodie opening fire into the crowd. Moya is also asking for help to ID him, along with a second person seen running away from the shooting scene on the same camera angle.
Three people had to be taken to the hospital after the shooting, including Baisden, who later died from her injuries.
The person in the red shorts and gray hoodie can be seen running southeast on Southeast 15th Street, and Moya is asking anyone who knows where that person went after the shooting to come forward.
“That would be very helpful to us," Moya says in the video appeal.
In the video, Moya points out the direction the shooter had been aiming, which is off camera.
“It is important for us to identify everyone that was standing near that area that is not seen in this camera’s angle," Moya said.
