JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Clara White Mission got $400,000 for its Food Distribution II Initiative at Eartha’s Farm & Market.
Representative Wyman Duggan was joined by the President and CEO, Ju’Coby Pittman, board members and local residents at the farm to talk about the funding appropriation at a press conference on Friday.

Duggan said Northwest Jacksonville residents have faced food access disparities.
“With this appropriation, we’re building on the mission’s outstanding legacy, rooted in more than a century of service dating back to the founder, Dr. Eartha M. M. White,” she said.
Officials said the funding will enhance food distribution capacity and extend educational programs that will support long-term self-sufficiency for area residents.
The initiative builds on the farm’s mission to create economic opportunity and health equity.
Pittman said the funding is a game-changer for the community.
“With this support, Eartha’s Farm & Market can reach deeper into our community, providing fresh food, training, and hope where it’s needed most,” Pittman said. “We’re planting more than seeds, we’re sowing economic opportunity, health, and dignity for families who deserve a chance to thrive.”
