Video: Deputies arrest Jacksonville man accused in fatal shooting of 17-year-old at Marion County gas station

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 24-year-old Jacksonville man was arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 17-year-old after an incident at a Marion County gas station.

Henry Valencia, 24, and Nosiah Santos, 17, stopped at a Petro gas station on Highway 318 and Interstate I-75 on May 30 around 2:30 p.m.

The two, who the sheriff’s office said were in a relationship, got into an argument after Valencia confronted Santos about messaging other men.

Valencia drove off, leaving Santo behind, but shortly returned to the gas station to park the vehicle and confront Santos again, according to MCSO.

He continued to argue with Santos, but when the 17-year-old “appeared to disengage” from the argument, Valencia pulled out a gun and shot him, MCSO said.

Valencia then, according to MCSO, hit him in the head several times before he returned to his vehicle and drove back to Jacksonville.

Santos died from his injuries.

Valencia was arrested on July 11 and charged with second-degree murder.
