Traffic on King Street to be reduced to 1 lane overnight as crews work on water main improvement project

The traffic modifications are expected from July 14-16 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The City of St. Augustine announced on Thursday there will be overnight traffic pattern changes next week on King Street as crews continue work on the water main improvement project.

According to the city, traffic on King Street between U.S. 1 and Malaga Street will be reduced to one lane Monday through Wednesday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Crews will revert to two lanes each morning.

Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and follow all posted signs and flagmen.

The city said this is part of the King Street Water Main Improvement Project. This is a separate component of work unrelated to the Florida Department of Transportation bridge replacement project, which is expected to begin in the fall of 2025.
