FHP video shows driver launching fireworks out of window, doing donuts amid Fourth of July street takeover

4 arrested in connection to illegal event

ORLANDO, Fla. – A video recently posted to social media by the Florida Highway Patrol shows a driver launching fireworks out of their window while doing donuts in the middle of a street in Central Florida on the Fourth of July.

In the video, viewers can see multiple angles of the driver completing at least four full donuts in the middle of an Orlando intersection while launching at least three separate fireworks from their car.

Viewers are also able to see various FHP troopers follow the car until they surround and pull the vehicle over.

FHP said its agency, along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, made multiple arrests in connection with the incident, including one for stunt driving and launching fireworks, and another for organizing the event and selling alcohol.

According to News4JAX partner station WKMG-6 in Orlando, four men were arrested in total following the multi-agency response: Stoyan Valtchev, 18, Roderick Baez, 20, Dion Custard, 31, and Anthony Colon, 33.

Baez was the one who was found inside the vehicle shown in the video, and according to arrest reports, had various Roman candle fireworks in the passenger seat of the car.

FHP adds that he was also headed to an additional street takeover event.

Colon, troopers say, organized one of the street takeovers and provided alcohol to various attendees.

Valtchev and Custard were in other vehicles and were seen doing burnouts and donuts, FHP said.

“Those fireworks could have gone and hit anyone,” Lt. Tara Crescenzi with FHP told WKMG. “Anyone might not just be the people who were spectating. It could be a building. It could be a business. It could be a pedestrian,” she said.
