JSO investigating potential abduction on Easter Street

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious incident reported as a potential abduction and is asking for the public’s help.

Just before 9 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 1300 block of Easter Street for a domestic disturbance.

According to a witness, 18-year-old Vink Omar was inside a residence when Elias Armstrong, her 20-year-old ex-boyfriend, arrived and repeatedly tried to get her to come outside — even breaking a window.

Omar eventually stepped outside to speak with Armstrong, who allegedly grabbed her and tried several times to pull her away from the home.

The witness went inside to call police and, upon returning, found both individuals gone.

The pair were last seen arguing a short distance from the residence and are believed to have left the area on foot. Efforts to locate or contact either individual have been unsuccessful.

JSO is working to confirm the safety of both parties and understand the circumstances of the encounter.
