Woman, 21, charged in murder of man found with multiple blunt force injuries at Westside apartment complex: JSO

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman was arrested and charged with murder after a man was found dead at an apartment complex on Jacksonville’s Westside on Wednesday morning, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Police said Journee Denaisha McGrew, 21, was charged with the murder of Waduta Londrell Woodley, 41.

Around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police responded to reports of a dispute at an apartment complex on Manotak Avenue. When officers arrived, they found Woodley suffering from multiple blunt force injuries, police said.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department responded and pronounced Woodley dead at the scene.

After conducting their investigation, detectives “quickly” identified McGrew as the suspect in Woodley’s murder, according to JSO.

McGrew was booked into Duval Cunty jail facing charges of second-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
