Florida is among the states offering this free service.
“People have absolutely no excuse for driving impaired,” Mike Jenkins, AAA spokesperson, said. “Make sure you have a plan before you party, have a designated driver, ensure you have those ride-sharing apps. But if all else fails, you can call AAA Tow to Go and we’ll help you get a safe ride.”
The “Tow to Go” program will be available starting Friday, July 4 until Monday, July 7.
How it works
- Call (855) 2-TOW-2-GO
- AAA provides a free, confidential ride and tow within 10 miles
- Available to everyone—AAA members and non-members
- Can’t be scheduled in advance—designed for those last-minute situations
Other states offering this service include Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Nebraska, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Colorado (Denver), North Carolina (Charlotte), Indiana (Fort Wayne/South Bend).
According to a release, since its launch over 25 years ago, “Tow to Go” has removed nearly 30,000 impaired drivers from the road.
