Wildfire in Nassau County may impact travel near Hilliard, FHP warns

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is urging drivers to exercise caution due to an active wildfire burning near Kings Road and County Road 108 in Nassau County.

The fire, which covers about 20 acres, was reported around 8:48 a.m. Sunday. It could affect travel on U.S. 1 and the Hilliard area throughout the day, night, and into Monday morning.

Drivers are advised to reduce speed and use low beam headlights, especially during nighttime and early morning hours, as visibility may quickly worsen.
