“I wouldn’t wish this on anyone,” said Warren Mobley, Kenneth’s uncle.
On his 39th birthday, family and friends came together to honor their son, cousin, and friend.
Warren Mobley shared fond memories of Kenneth, saying, “He was a loving, caring guy. Every time you saw him, he was happy. He loved his life, good, bad, and different. He enjoyed his life to the fullest, and I love him.”
Nearly two weeks ago, Kenneth was killed in the parking lot near Copeland’s on Jacksonville’s Southside. Questions remain about the circumstances surrounding his death and who was involved.
Patricia Mingo, Kenneth’s cousin, expressed her disbelief at the news of Kenneth’s death, saying, “He’s not that type of guy. He’s not out hurting anybody; he’s not out doing those things. That’s the sad part about it.”
As the family gathered, they took time to pray and reflect, sharing stories about Kenneth and the memories he leaves behind.
Patricia Mingo emphasized Kenneth’s positive impact on others, saying, “His smile, his attitude—he was a loving guy who was there for everybody. He could reach out and help. Just remember that Kenny was a good guy.”
As the family lit candles and raised them to the sky, they hoped someone would come forward with information that could bring closure.
“Come out. Come out of hiding. Go to JSO and turn yourself in,” Patricia urged.
