JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People in Jacksonville are reacting to Saturday’s news of the United States conducting airstrikes on three nuclear sites in Iran.

To try and get as many responses as possible, News4JAX went to three areas in Jacksonville: The Northside, the Southbank, and Riverside.
The majority of people we tried speaking with did not want to speak on camera; however, those who did had a lot to say.
Some said that what the Trump administration did is going to mess with the world’s diplomacy.
A man named Darion, who is against the airstrikes, said, “I feel like when [President Trump] started, he said it was going to be America first, and [now] it seems like it’s more about foreign policy.”
Others say they feel like the president was right to perform those airstrikes because it’s keeping the world safe.
“I think the United States did the right thing for the whole world because Iran is a real dangerous country,” Dennis said.
“It protects our country from attacks from the cells that’s already planted here,” said one man who only wanted to be identified as a Jacksonville resident. “So we’re definitely for whatever [the] president has to do to take Iran and the nuclear intent out.”
And a few remained on the fence.
“It’s kind of like hard to determine if it is a good idea or it isn’t a good idea because either way something has to be done,” Fran Stewart said.
Another woman said she was concerned that the airstrikes could turn into something bigger that could lead to plenty of lives lost, but she’s hopeful world leaders come together and stop things before they progress further.
