  • Slow down for pedestrians
  • Stay visible in bright-colored clothing
  • Ride in the same direction as traffic, not against it
  • Use front and rear bike lights
  • Riders under 16 must wear a properly fitted helmet

St. Johns County Commissioner Ann Taylor told News4JAX Reporter Briana Brownlee she is noticing the lack of education when it comes to e-bikes is part of the issue.

“I know I spoke with someone just this week, in fact. They talked to a child who was on an e-bike and went right through a stop sign. They stopped the child they asked them what they were doing. There’s a stop sign right there this particular teenager said they didn’t think that applied to them,” Taylor said.
