JSO arrests man accused of making threats against ICE protesters on social media

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested a man accused of making threats against protesters on social media.

On Tuesday, JSO investigated the account that made the comment and connected it to 26-year-old Zachary Degross.

“Look as a Jacksonville resident of I see any large gatherings to protest ice I’m going to grab my buddies tow truck and plow through every ignant [sic], un-american swine I see protestong [sic] the deportation of ILLEGAL immigrants, since you believe in them so much why do you go with,” Degross is accused of writing.

On Wednesday, detectives went to Degross’ home and he was interviewed about the post.

He was arrested after the interview for sending written threats to conduct an act of terrorism, a second-degree felony.

JSO urges anyone who sees a threat to harm others online to report it to them immediately.
