Jacksonville Armada relocates Saturday games after EWU issues ‘last-minute’ venue cancellation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two Jacksonville Armada soccer games scheduled to take place Saturday at Edward Waters University were abruptly relocated on Friday.

The “last-minute cancellation” was reportedly made by EWU President Dr. A. Zachary Faison Jr., according to an email sent to fans.

The team said Faison canceled “all vendor and event contracts at EWU for the foreseeable future” one day before the U23 National Premier Soccer League and Women’s Premier Soccer League games.

The games will now be played at Patton Park at 2850 Hodges Boulevard.

The women’s game begins at 3 p.m., and the men’s will start at 7:30 p.m.

The team apologized to its fans for the sudden change, calling it a “lack of professionalism” from the university.
