ORANGE PARK, Fla. – The three shop cats who called Hagan Ace Hardware their home are safe after the fire destroyed the store in Orange Park on Friday, a spokesperson told News4JAX.

On Monday, Hagan Ace Hardware shared a photo on social media of the trio enjoying breakfast together.

Their names are Timmy, Evie, and Charlie, or King Charlie, as he is known to many of his adoring fans.

According to Hagan Ace Hardware’s Instagram account, Charlie, with his fluffy gray fur and regal mane, is a local celebrity in the garden shop and on social media. He could often be seen sitting among the flowers and garden fixtures, watching over his domain.

Tera Lageman, spokesperson for Ace Hardware, said the three felines are being cared for by employees. Dozens of customers shared their relief over the news on social media. They also expressed support for everyone affected by the massive fire.

The State Fire Marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire, which closed off Blanding Blvd. for hours on Friday and left dozens of workers scrambling to find out where to show up for work.

Hagan Ace Hardware management sent a memo to staff over the weekend to let them know that their top priority is the staff who have been reassigned to other Hagan Ace Hardware stores.
