Sunday afternoon storms caused the delay of the gates’ opening for the Jacksonville Jazz Festival.
Guests who were in line around 3:30 p.m. were asked to return to their vehicles, according to a Facebook post.

The Jazz Fest later said gates would open at 7 p.m. Connie Han Trio also cancelled its performance.

“The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is a rain or shine event, but in the event of severe weather — determined by the festival’s Emergency Operations Command — performances may be rescheduled or cancelled. The safety of all guests and performers is our top priority. If an evacuation is necessary, attendees are encouraged to seek shelter in their vehicles until it is safe to return," the post said.
Organizers asked concert goers to stay tuned to the official social media channels for real-time updates.
