JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A fundraiser was held Saturday for a 13-year-old boy who is battling advanced-stage liver disease and needs a liver and bone marrow transplant.
According to the GoFundMe set up for Randall Green, he was born with a primary immune deficiency called X-linked agammaglobulinemia.

According to the National Library of Medicine, agammaglobulinemia is a rare inherited immunodeficiency disorder that is characterized by low or absent blood cells.
For years, Green’s family was unsure what was going on with his body, but in 2024, that changed.
On July 14, 2024, Green was diagnosed with stage four liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, and major splenomegaly.
According to the National Institute of Health, Cirrhosis is when the liver is permanently scarred or damaged, and portal hypertension is increased pressure in the portal vein.
An event for Rally For Randall took place Saturday afternoon in Callahan. Family friend Carolyn Dixon talked about the event.
“All the proceeds go to him. He has to travel to Miami to get the liver transplant and the bone marrow. His parents are going to him, and his parents are going to be down in Miami for about 6 to 8 months. That’s why we’re trying to do what we can to help him,” Dixon said.
She said they’ve had people reach out for donations, including businesses, by just handing out fliers.
