JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The City of Jacksonville’s Office of Administrative Services issued an air quality advisory Friday because of elevated levels of ozone.
Elevated ozone levels are forecasted for the next couple of days.

Warm and dry weather could contribute to the elevated ozone.
For children and those over 65, it’s advised that you don’t stay outdoors too long and try not to be too active. It’s also recommended to take more breaks.
Some symptoms to keep an eye out for include coughing, shortness of breath, throat irritation, and headaches.
It’s best to plan outdoor activities in the morning when the ozone is lower.
If you have chronic respiratory conditions like asthma, COPD, or chronic bronchitis, you’ll want to take your preventative medications, follow your respiratory action plan, and keep quick relief medicine nearby.
For everyone else, make your outdoor activities shorter and less intense.
