JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Jaguars may have gotten approval from around the league on their decision to grab Travis Hunter second overall in the 2025 NFL draft, but one fan wants the team to know that they not only drafted a great player, but a great person.

Posting to Facebook about her flight home from Denver, the unsuspecting fan said she “met the nicest young man” who was seated next to her on the plane.

“He offered to put my bag in the overhead compartment and helped me with my tray. He was always polite, saying ‘yes ma’am’ or ‘no ma’am,’” she wrote.

The woman then realized people walking by would stop to congratulate him, say great job, or ask for a picture, which prompted her to stop, turn, and ask, “Who am I sitting next to?”

When she looked down and noticed he was wearing a pair of Jacksonville Jaguars pants, possibly the same pair he wore under his graduation gown while walking the stage at the University of Colorado, she smiled and asked if he was an athlete.

“He smiled and said, ‘I’m Travis. Yes, I was drafted by the Jags,’” the social post read.

The woman went on to describe Hunter as a “humble” and “down-to-earth” man and that the Jags “did good” by drafting him, adding that she already told her sons that she wants a Travis Hunter jersey.

“I will be buying tickets,” she exclaimed.

While not as close and personal as being seated next to him on a flight, Jaguars fans recently got a chance to get a closer look at the team’s first-round pick at the Miller Electric Center on Saturday.

Unsurprisingly to most, Travis Hunter was doing Travis Hunter things.

The rookie phenom had a busy week, graduating from Colorado on Thursday, then rushing to Jacksonville to start his pro career. And on May 24, he plans to marry his fiancée.

The Jaguars continue their offseason program next week. Their next availability is May 19, after their first organized team activity practice. The mandatory veteran minicamp is June 10-12 before the team breaks for a brief time off.

Training camp starts in mid-July.
