Tammie Scott, the show manager, noted that despite some challenging weather, attendees were eager to explore home improvement options.
“We’ve had some weather this weekend, but people have been brave and are trucking out because they’re anxious to get their home projects taken care of,” she said. “We have a lot of wonderful local people for them to speak with.”
Scott added that the event will feature plenty of vendors that span a variety of home services, offering customers a one-stop shop for any questions they have regarding contractors, remodeling or general items for their home.
“I’ve had customers come in with a blueprint to build a new home and leave the show with everything lined up and taken care of,” she added.
The show featured a variety of local nurseries. Chinar Ibrahim from Jones and Hall Nursery highlighted their offerings, mentioning that the nursery has been a staple in Jacksonville for over 20 years, where they provide a range of plants, including vegetables, fruit trees, and landscaping options.
One standout was the “popcorn plant,” which emits a buttery popcorn scent when its leaves are crushed.
In addition to plants, attendees could find unique snacks. Lorenzo Williams from Mike’s Seasonings showcased Sheffield Pecans, sourced from Monticello. He described the pecans as the finest available, offering various flavors, including praline, natural butter, key lime, and sweet heat.
Kirstyn Grudell from Greystone Kitchens discussed the most sought-after items at the show, emphasizing the popularity of countertops and kitchen remodels.
“We do about 200 projects a year, but it’s all mixed up, you know, and do like, mostly kitchens, and then you’ve got your random addition or a full garage remodel,” she said.
