Vilano Beach boat ramp to temporarily close for construction during dredging project

VILANO BEACH, Fla. – The proposed schedule for the Vilano Beach boat ramp to temporarily close during an ongoing dredging project was released.

The project that aims to improve navigation and safety will remove about 6,000 cubic yards of sediment from the channel and boat basin.

If county staff review and finalize the schedule, it would look as follows:

  • May 12–15: Closed
  • May 16-18: Open
  • May 19–22: Closed
  • May 23-26: Open
  • May 27–30: Contingency option to close (if needed)

St. Johns County city leaders said the contractor selected the dates for safety and efficiency measures.

This project has no impact on the parking area and facilities.
