“There is solace in walking with an all-powerful God that can carry you through the hardest moments in life. It is for this reason that we have hope in sadness as we share the news of the passing of our beloved Mother, Lady Estelle McKissick.”

She is remembered as a “passionate educator” with 50 years of experience in education and an additional two years as an interviewer for teachers.

She served on the Jacksonville library board as well.

As a lover of her church, she established the B.E.S.T. Academy, which helps students learn about STEM, prepare for the SAT and ACT, and helps with English and math for elementary students.

The Bethel Church congregation said her impact and legacy will be everlasting.
