JTA temporarily suspends St. Johns River Ferry after crash incident

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The St. Johns River Ferry will be out of commission for an unknown period after a crash.

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority said the Sunday incident happened when the ferry hit the boarding ramp while leaving Mayport Landing.

No one was injured.

Structural inspections of both the bridge and ferry will be conducted to assess necessary repairs.

It’s unclear when services will restart.
