“What was that racing b******t?” the deputy is heard asking the first driver, a 17-year-old boy driving a Toyota Corolla.
The deputy then walks to a second vehicle that a 12-year-old was driving and had the boy get out of the car, placing handcuffs on him, the video shows.
Other children could be seen in the vehicle.
Parents showed up to the scene, including the teen’s parent, the video shows.
“Well he was racing a 12-year-old who was driving the Nissan, so he’s getting arrested today,” the deputy says.
“Who’s getting arrested?” the parent asks.
“Both the drivers,” the deputy says.
The deputy then tells the parent that the two vehicles were racing each other on the roadway toward his marked vehicle.
“I know man, but d**n. My son’s starting college this year,” the parent says.
“Then he needs to get his head out of his a**,” the deputy replies.
Volusia sheriff’s officials said the two drivers and two 16-year-olds were cited for racing on a highway.
The 12-year-old was also cited for not having a driver’s license.
