Motorcyclist killed after crashing into utility pole in Nassau County: FHP

NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A Jacksonville man was killed in a crash Saturday morning after losing control of his motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at CR-121 and Settindown Drive. The 49-year-old was negotiating a right-hand curve, when for “unknown reasons” he lost control and ran off the roadway.

FHP said he then struck a utility pole and was thrown from his bike.

The driver was pronounced dead on scene by Nassau County Fire Rescue.
