JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – UnitedHealthcare and the University of Florida have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract that will restore network access to UHC’s health system.

Beginning May 5, people enrolled in the following plans will have network access to UF Health’s hospitals, facilities, and physicians
- UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored commercial plans
- UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Florida (Medicaid)
According to UHC, the agreement also restores network access to UF Health St. Johns - Flagler Hospital facilities and physicians for people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, including Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP).
“We appreciate your patience throughout the past several months. It was always our top priority to reach an agreement that was affordable and sustainable for Florida families and employers, and this agreement helps accomplish that goal,” UHC said.
The agreement comes about one week after UHC reached a verbal agreement with Ascension Florida to extend their contract to May 14, with the hopes of getting a more permanent deal done by the deadline.
