Jacksonville invites families to free JaxReady event for emergency preparedness

Jax Ready Fest is Friday and Saturday at the Prime Osborn Convention Center (WJXT)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The city of Jacksonville is inviting the community to the 2025 JaxReady Fest happening on April 25 and 26 at the Prime Osborn Convention Center.

The two-day family-friendly event is free and offers live demonstrations, hands-on learning, and interactive exhibits designed to empower people of all ages with the skills and knowledge to prepare them for an emergency.

At JaxReady Fest, there will be interactive experiences that cover critical topics such as emergency 911 calls, severe weather preparedness, and water safety.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Free admission, parking, and giveaways.
  • Learn essential preparedness skills with hands on demonstrations.

  • Get up close and hands-on with emergency vehicles, utility trucks, and response equipment.
  • Gain insights on severe weather safety, home emergency planning, Narcan administration, and more with free workshops.
  • Enjoy scavenger hunts, preparedness games, and giveaways! There will be exciting activities for all ages!
  • Meet experts dedicated to keeping our community safe.

Attendees will also be able to learn about JEA’s hurricane preparation.

They’ll see JEA buckets up close, get preparation tips, and learn about JEA’s Restoration 1-2-3 power restoration process.

JEA is a lead sponsor of this free community event featuring a wide range of engaging activities, educational workshops, and interactive demonstrations for residents of all ages.

Guests will see:

  • Transformer changing demonstrations
  • Lineworker demonstrations
  • Water/Wastewater crew demonstrations
  • Touch-a-truck vehicles
  • Booth demonstrations on JEA’s new mobile app and Restoration 1-2-3
