Jacksonville man arrested after predator sting reveals decades of child sexual abuse: JSO

Julius Fagge III (Jacksonville Sheriff's Office)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 64-year-old Jacksonville man faces multiple charges of sexual abuse of a child following an investigation into allegations dating back to the 1990s, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said Julius Fagge III was arrested in February by the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office for soliciting a minor via computer as part of their sexual predator stings called Operation Deviant Nightfall and Deviant Sunrise.

Following the arrest, investigators learned Fagge repeatedly sexually abused several children in Jacksonville in the 1990s. All victims were under 12 at the time.

Detectives traveled to Georgia and North Carolina to track down leads. JSO said after interviews with multiple victims and corroborating evidence, detectives obtained a warrant for Fagge’s arrest on multiple charges of Sexual Battery on a Child.

He was arrested on April 17 by the JSO Special Assault Unit and booked into the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

“Your JSO will work closely with the State Attorney’s Office to get justice for the victims and families who must endure a lifetime of trauma from these acts,” JSO said.

There is no statute of limitations for this type of crime and cases can be reported no matter how long ago they happened, according to JSO.

Victims and survivors of abuse are encouraged to come forward and call JSO at 904.630.0500.
