JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – People lined up for nearly a mile to peacefully protest President Donald Trump’s administration at the St. Johns Town Center on Saturday.

The protest was put on by 50501 Northeast Florida. This area was just one across the nation of 50 protests in all 50 states for one movement to “uphold the Constitution and end executive overreach.”
Emily Ferguson explained why they were out protesting.
“It’s a peaceful protest to speak out against the administration’s abuse of our democracy and dismantling of it and trying to maintain our First Amendment rights while we still can,” Ferguson said.
Ferguson said she was also involved in the Hands Off protest on April 5th.
“I think people have other issues that [make them angry], and they’re just out here making their voice heard,” Ferguson said.
Darlyn Kuhn is a former college professor who was protesting.
“I hope that people who believe like we do will come out and join us. If we don’t lift our voices now, we won’t be able to later,” Kuhn said.
She said she has friends who have lost jobs under the Trump administration.
“...because Elon Musk and his merry band of pranksters have gone in and just willy-nilly decided to take away their jobs I have lost a lot of money because of Donald Trumps playing around with the Tariffs and I just don’t want anyone else in America to grow up under the circumstances I see our country going," Kuhn said.
One man was out counter-protesting.
"I came out here to counter-protest because they’re basically out here every weekend or so and every person has a voice. Each side has a voice. I came out here to exercise my First Amendment rights. Kind of point out the hypocrisy for the beliefs of some of these people where they don’t think I should have a voice,” Ron Anselemo said.
