JACKOSNVILLE, Fla. – Nintendo has announced that U.S. retail pre-orders for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 will open on April 24, 2025.
This comes after the company postponed the initial pre-order date of April 9 due to concerns over tariffs and evolving market conditions.

Nintendo confirmed in a news release that launch pricing will remain unchanged: the base model will retail for $449.99, while the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle will be available for $499.99.
However, Nintendo noted that pricing for Switch 2 accessories has been adjusted from earlier announcements due to “changes in market conditions.” The company also left open the possibility of future pricing shifts for other products.
“We apologize for the retail pre-order delay and hope this reduces some of the uncertainty our customers may be experiencing,” Nintendo stated in the news release.
The Switch 2 is set to officially launch on June 5, 2025.
