TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – President Donald Trump, federal, and Florida officials are posting to social media with their reactions to the active shooter incident that took place at Florida State University on Thursday.
Governor Ron DeSantis said, “Our prayers are with our FSU family and state law enforcement is actively responding.”

At 12:45 p.m., Senator Rick Scott said," Praying for the safety of everyone at FSU and a swift recovery for those injured. My team has been in touch with local law enforcement and continues to monitor the situation - students should continue to follow directions from school officials."

Margo Martin, a special assistant to the president and communications advisor, posted a video to social media showing President Donald Trump speaking about the incident.
In the video, Trump can be heard saying he has been briefed on the situation and called it a “shame” and a “horrible thing,” adding that he’ll have more to say about it at a later time.

Pamela Bondi, the U.S. Attorney General, said, “The FBI is on the scene at Florida State and we are in communication with agents on the ground. Our priority is the safety of everyone involved. We will keep updating as we learn more. Praying for all.”

Florida State University is continuing to ask people to shelter in place, adding that police have responded to the Student Union and all classes and university events that were scheduled for Thursday have been canceled.
