Among the fallen who were honored was a special tribute for Corrections Officer Bradford “Brad” McNew.

McNew was tragically murdered while off-duty after intervening during a domestic dispute at a Northside truck stop.

“Today, we etch a new name on to the wall,” Waters said. “He was not on duty when he came to the aid of another human being, an act that ultimately cost him his life. Officer McNew will always stand in my mind as the ultimate public servant.”
