JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The City of Jacksonville is launching a citywide Minecraft build challenge, inviting students to reimagine iconic Jacksonville public spaces.
In partnership with Minecraft Education, C40 Cities and Duval County Public Schools, the virtual competition is open to all K-12 students and college students enrolled at a college within Duval County.

The project launches on Monday, Apr 14.

The goal is for students to work together to design a sustainable and resilient riverfront community hub in Minecraft.
There will be four divisions: Elementary School (3rd-5th grade), Middle School (6th-8th grade), High School (9th-12th grade), and College Division.
Teams can have up to 5 students, with 2 alternates allowed.
Each division will have its own set of finalists and judging panel feedback.
The submission deadline is May 2.
The top 8 teams will compete live in an Esports-style final event, the Mayor’s Cup on May 20.
