The team landed in Gainesville around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday before heading to the University of Florida’s campus to join the thousands of students and fans waiting for them at Flavet Field, where the championship rally is expected to be held.

At the rally, Todd Golden, the team’s head coach, could only describe the feeling of winning a championship and the love the team has received from fans as “absolutely amazing.”

“You guys have been amazing for us all year, your support has carried us to the highest level, we appreciate you more than you know,” Golden said.

Next was Walter Clayton Jr, who was honored with the Most Outstanding Player award for his performance in the tournament.

Clayton also had a quick message for Gator Nation.

“Thank y’all, we appreciate all the support,” he said. “Them Gator boys stayed hot, Florida’s back on top, and it’s about to continue.”

News4JAX managed to quickly speak with Clayton and Golden, with the former saying he was looking forward to celebrating with his family by “spending time with them and just getting some food.”

Golden said the team is “very proud to bring a championship back to Gainesville.”

“Thank you all for the support this year. Go Gators baby!” he said.

An hourlong video of the celebration can be watched below.
